2022 Event Schedule

Beaubears Island Interpretive Centre in Nelson opens in June, ferry service to the island commences June 19, Father’s Day. We will offer FREE ferry service to the island on Father’s day until June 24. All you have to do is arrive at 35 St. Patrick’s Drive, read/sign a ferry waiver, staff will provide information, take the ferry over to Beaubears Island, explore, learn, connect with nature, call us when you are ready to get picked up, we bring you back and thank you for joining with Beaubears Island.  It is that simple.  You can do this often throughout the summer (ferry service price $10) from Wednesday to Sunday,  10 am -4 pm.  We also offer Island passes for $60 for UNLIMITED visits to the island.

SUMMER 2022 – July and August Wednesdays ONLY– All First Responders & Healthcare workers and their families have FREE ferry service to Beaubears Island.

Artist on the Island – Summer 2022 – 10 artists, one week each, will paint on the island for a minimum of 4 hrs a week, available to answer questions then at the Interpretive Centre Saturday from noon to 4 pm display & sell art created relating to Beaubears Island.

Freedom Mic on the River – artists are welcome to showcase their talent under the gazebo at Bicentennial Park, Saturday afternoons, weather permitting.  Venders/potluck and washer toss will be available when able.
